  1. What is NNSW?
  2. A robust platform which simplifies and speeds up Customs and trade processes for both traders and Government agents, providing a comprehensive online environment to process all trade transactions through a single interface.

  3. What is Exim Code?
  4. ExIm code refers to export import code. Export Import (ExIm) code is registration required for the person importing or exporting goods from Nepal. ExIm code is issued by the Department of Customs, Ministry of Finance Government of Nepal. In other words, ExIm Code is the Government Identification number issued to the traders. In its absence, government may not able to track unregistered importers/exporter.

  5. How to access services?
  6. There are services that are available in NNSW Portal like Customs Duty Calculator, Customs Tax, Codification, Tariff Finder. Other services like submission of LPCO documents require user to be registered to NNSW.

  13. How NNSW works?
  14. Users access the NNSW platform via a web interface, where a public portal provides a range of up-to-date information including trade formalities, import and export procedures, latest tariff codes and rates. Once logged in, users can fill in and manage applications for License, Permit, Certificate and others (LPCO). All duties, taxes and related trade fees can be paid using electronic payment facilities. Documents can be scanned and attached for online submission, eliminating physical visit to administrations. Data submitted once is used to auto-populate others, avoiding duplication of efffort and providing data integrity. The status of on-going document processing can be viewed by trader at any time, on mobile devices.

  15. How can I login to NNSW application?
  16. Before login ,you have to registered on nnsw.gov.np/wu/registration/index. After successful registration, the NNSW application can be accessed.

  17. How can I access NNSW application?
  18. Go to NNSW Trade Portal nnsw.gov.np/trade than click Online Submission .Click License, Permit, Certificate & Others. Enter valid email and password and click on login, you will enter inside application.

  19. How to request an LPCO?
  20. After successfully login inside the application, click on New LPCO and select type of LPCO you want to request. Fill all the mandatory fields of tab such as Header, Names and parties, items and attach documents and click on submit button. Your LPCO document will be ready for Government Agency’s Recommendation and Approval

  21. How to track my LPCO in web application?
  22. Login to the NNSW application. On the home page, click on Online tracking and then click on License, Permit, Certificate and others and by providing valid email and password enter inside the application. Click on eye icon to view details of the selected LPCO application. Click on support information tab to view the latest status of LPCO application. Date and time wise status updates of the application can be seen.

  23. How can I track my LPCO in mobile application?
  24. For tracking application in mobile, download the Webb Tracker app from Google Play Store and select Nepal as the country and login to the app with same username and password used in the web application. You can see the latest status of your LPCO application on the home screen. You can tap on the bell icon to see notifications for status updates. You can search for LPCO applications by tapping on the search icon and see the latest status

  25. How to Recommend/Approve LPCO?
  26. After login to LPCO application, click on search button to view list of LPCOs. Click on edit icon and open a document you want to review. Three options are available for the document Recommend, Query and Reject. You are required to insert message in support information tab before performing operations along with the valid reasons. • Recommend – LPCO document will go to the next department for final approval. • Query – If you have questions or clarification about the document, you can send it back to the traders. • Reject-if you are not satisfied with the information and documents provided by traders you can reject the application. Note: If there is another level of approval required, you have to follow the same step

LPCO

  1. What is LPCO?
  2. License, Permit, Certificate and Other Approvals that is required from Government Agency in order for traders to import / export goods to / from Nepal

  3. How to request an LPCO?
  4. Go to NNSW Trade Portal > Click Online Submission > Click License, Permit, Certificate & Others. Fill all mandatory fields and click Submit button. Click Here

  5. What is Quota & How to use it?
  6. An import/export quota is a type of trade restriction that sets a physical limit on the quantity or value of goods imported/exported in a given period of time and allowed from specific country (country of origin or country of export). The System will provide Quota management tool which will allow traders to request for needed quantity of goods and the Agencies will approve it. The system will not allow to import/export more goods than are approved by the Agency.

  7. How to add new attached document not in the list?
  8. To add attached documents you need to go to the Attached Documents tab of the LPCO application and press on the "Add New Attachment" button. Select Attached Document Type: 999 - Others and attach file.

  9. What do you mean by Valid from date?
  10. Valid from date is the date from when the LPCO is approved by organization.

  11. What do you mean by Valid to date?
  12. Valid to date is the date of expiry of approved LPCO.

  13. What does the flow denote?
  14. There are two types of flow, one for Export shown as “EX” and one for Import shown as “IM” in the field.

  15. What is User Reference Number?
  16. User Reference Number is system generated number and is editable which will be used by user for tracking LPCO for future use.

  17. What is Exim Code?
  18. Exim code refers to EXport IMport code without it, trader are not allowed to perform international trade. Exim code is issued by the Department of Customs, Ministry of Finance Government of Nepal to facilitate traders to do international trade.

  19. What do you mean by type of use?
  20. Type of use can be categorized in two types: • Single Use: Means the LPCO can be used for only one time regardless of quantity or value imported/exported. LPCO will be considered fully used after single transaction. • Multiple Use: Means the LPCO can be used multiple times for importing/Exporting goods. If the volume of consignment is large then it will have to be shipped in certain volume at a time and same LPCO can be used for rest of the shipment.

  21. What do you mean by type of LPCO?

  23. What do you mean by Related Products?
  24. HS codes related with the type of LPCO being applied for which provides information about the products

  25. What do you mean by Request Number?
  26. System assigns request number automatically to the application submitted by exporter.

  27. What do you mean by Request Date?
  28. Request date is assigned by the system automatically after the application is submitted by the exporter.

  29. What do you mean by Approval Reference?
  30. Approval reference is assigned by the system automatically after the approved application request is processed and fees collected by cashier.

  31. What do you mean by Terms of Delivery?
  32. The Incoterms or International Commercial Terms are a series of pre-defined commercial terms published by the international chamber of commerce (ICC) relating to international commercial law. The Incoterms rules are intended primarily to clearly communicate the tasks, costs, and risks associated with the global or international transportation and delivery of goods. Incoterms inform sales contracts defining respective obligations, costs, and risks involved in the delivery of goods from the seller to the buyer List of options will be provided for applicant to select one from the list. For e.g FOB,FAS,CFR,CIF.

  33. What do you mean by Invoice date?
  34. User is allowed to input the date of invoice as per the contract / agreement between exporting and importing parties. Calendar date will be provided to the user to select one from the list with restriction on the selection of future date.

  35. What is Invoice Currency Code?
  36. List of options will be provided for applicant to select one of the currencies from the list approved by NRB.

  37. What is Invoice Exchange Rate?
  38. System shows the current exchange rate set by NRB according to the currency selected.

  39. What do you mean by place of Loading?
  40. The place of loading may be defined as the place where the goods were loaded on an IWT freight vessel

  41. What do you mean by place of unloading?
  42. The place of unloading may be defined as the place where the goods are removed from vehicle.

  43. What is the purpose of Remarks?
  44. System assigns the default value automatically which is editable as per requirement of agency. Purpose of this field is to display and print the legal provisions in the printout for type of license application being processed. This is done at recommendation level.

  45. What do you mean by Commercial description?
  46. Commercial descriptions are provided by manufacturing company for products to identify one from the other by brand name, model name, etc.

  47. What is a Quota type?
  48. A quota type is a type of trade restrictions that sets a physical limit on the quantity of a good that can be imported/exported into/from a country in a given period of time. Quotas, like other trade restrictions, are typically used to benefit the producers of a good in that economy. This field provides information regarding the type of measurement used to give the basis on which quota is allocated if it is applicable to the product being imported. Options are provided to the user for selection. UOM (Unit of Measurement), Value in NPR, Net Mass, Gross Mass, Unlimited

  49. What do you mean by product specifications?
  50. A product specification is the information sheet that documents all of the attributes and information regarding the finished product that is produce in a food business

  51. What do you mean by Laboratory test result?
  52. Laboratory test result is the test result received from the laboratory after testing product and categorizing as per result as Not Applicable, Positive, and Negative.

  53. When license is suspended?
  54. When license documents are not satisfactory, This operation is used only by authorized user (DG), or personnel authorized by the DG. After this operation the request will have “suspended “status.

  55. How can suspended license can be activated?
  56. This operation is used only by authorized user (DG), or personnel authorized by the DG. Only the suspended application can be activated being satisfied with the details and document provided by user. Performing this operation will bring request to “approved” status.

  57. What do you mean by mode of transport?
  58. Mode of transport is a term used to distinguish between different ways of transportation or transporting people or goods. The different modes of transport are air, water, and land transport, which includes Rails or railways, road and off-road transport.

  59. What is a Package Marks?
  60. Packages are often marked with handling instructions in the language of the country of origin. While this may safeguard the consignment to some extent, it is of little value for goods consigned to, or through, countries using different languages.

  61. How to request for modification after approval from OGA?
  62. Go to NNSW Trade Portal > Click on Online Submission > Click License, Permit, Certificate & Others > Enter username (PAN) and Password > Search your Application that needs to be modified > Click on View icon (eye button) > Go to Query & Notification > Write your message on the message box > Click on "Send request to " button. Your request will be forwarded to concerned department.

  63. How to apply for extention of LPCO after its validity is expired?
  64. Go to NNSW Trade Portal > Click on Online Submission > Click License, Permit, Certificate & Others > Enter username (PAN) and Password > Search your expired Application that needs to be extended > Click on Edit icon (pencil button) > Go to Query & Notification > Write your message on the message box > Click on "Request for Extension " button. Your request will be forwarded to concerned department. Note: For PQPMC trader must apply for extension before a week of expiry date of LPCO.
